ROUGE is a group of young ladies who embody the beauty, brain, and the heart of being a musician. These young ladies rock! To say the least, they sing, play instruments, and harmonize all at the same time! They show their versatility by incorporating light rock songs with classical violin lines to add to the unique musicality of the group. With every performance, they treat the audience with their undoubted charm and skill. The band is composed of four young women who display remarkable musical excellence in both playing their instruments and singing. Apart from the individual roles that they play in the band, these women are also quite accomplished as individuals. KARA is the bassist and the leader of the group. Her experience from her Indie Music days, to ABS-CBN's Pinoy Dream Academy Season 2 exposure, to her International Gigs, honed her to become a versatile and mature musician. She’s a musician in every way and also an outdoor enthusiast. Camping, long-boarding & cycling are only but a few of her hobbies. Her music influence: Alanis Morisette, Sheryl Crow, Plumb, Paramore, Katy Perry, The Cranberries. PRINCESS is the Violinist. She started playing the violin when she was 10 years old and was a member of the Cebu Youth Symphony Orchestra Junior Ensemble. She participated in several competitions where she emerged as finalist and/or winner. Aside from playing the violin, she has also won awards for clay sculpture, poetry writing, illustrative story-telling, and expressive reading. Nowadays, in her spare time, she upcycles empty glass bottles and paints them so they can be re-used! How eco friendly! Her music influence: Gospel Hymns, Clssical music (JS Bach, Chopin, Rachmaninoff, Bruch, Mozart, etc.), Maria Mena, M2m, Maria and the Diamonds. JERI plays the guitar. Long before she even learned how to play, she has already been using her God-given talent of singing. This passion for singing led her to pursue it as a profession from the time she entered University. In fact, you might have seen her perform in various bars and restaurants in the metro. Before she transforms into Miss Rockerchic at night, Jeri is a businesswoman and entrepreneur by day. Truly an illustrious being! Her music influence: Up Dharma Down, Alanis Morisette, Katy Perry. GYAN plays the drums. This girl really is a drummer by heart and boy, you sure will be amazed by her skill and her fancy tricks! Her first competition was the renowned Battle of the Bands with her 2 older brothers at the tender age of 10. Numerous other competitions not just local, but international, then followed this, where she mostly banked the top spot. As if this is not remarkable enough, recently, Gyan landed the top 5 spot (out of 117) for an international on-line contest, Hit Like a Girl. Her music influence: the Pinoy Rock Legends, OPM Bands, Mike Portnoy, Virgil Donati, Joey Jordison Each member of the band contributes to the character of Rouge, may it be in performing or by simply being themselves on stage.
